3. Why do I get sending error in Outlook Express?
There are two possible reasons. One is caused by authentication of our mail server and another is caused by rejection from your ISP.
Authentication
Our servers require authentication when you send mail.
To set up your mail client, follow steps below.
Select Account from Outlook Express menu bar.
Double Click on the email account on Internet Account screen.
Check Outgoing Mail Server's My server requires authentication on Server tab, if it is not checked, then click 'Apply'. Click 'Settings...'.
Check 'Use same setting as my incoming mail server', then click 'OK'.
- Test receiving email.
Rejection from your ISP.
Some, like Telus, providers don't allow you send email except through own mail server.
At the case, you have to set up Outlook Express to use the provider which you use.
Select Account from Outlook Express menu bar.
Double Click on the email account on Internet Account screen.
Put your ISP's SMTP server. If your ISP requires authentication, Check 'My server requires authentication' and click 'Setting' button.
Check 'Log on using' and type your account name and password for your provider. Then, Click 'OK'.
- Test receiving email.
